I substituted in whole wheat flour for regular flour, olive oil for butter, and honey for sugar and slightly tweaked my go-to banana bread recipe. 10/10 recommend for anyone who's trying to eat healthier but still wants a satisfying dessert!
Ingredients:
1 and 3/4 cups wheat flour
2 eggs
1/2 cup olive oil
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2-3 ripe bananas
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Mix olive oil, eggs, honey, milk, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract.
Sift in flour.
Add cinnamon and baking soda.
Mix together well. Feel free to add in any nuts, chocolate, etc. in this step!
Grease loaf pan with butter.
Pour batter into loaf pan and top with any additional add-ons.
Bake for about 1 hour. (Check on it in 45 minutes just in case your banana bread bakes faster than mine!) Every oven is different.
Enjoy!
Note: I topped half with walnuts and the other half with chocolate chips + walnuts!
