A super easy and quick dish!
Ingredients:
Asparagus
Pasta (I used penne so it matches the shape of the cut asparagus)
Garlic
Red pepper flakes
Parmesan
Salt
Pepper
Olive oil
Lemon
Directions:
Boil pasta
Chop asparagus into thin diagonals
Chop garlic and basil
Add olive oil to a pan on medium-high heat (should slightly coat the bottom of the pan)
Add garlic and red pepper flakes
Add asparagus
Cook for about 3-5 minutes and turn off heat
Once pasta is cooked, add it to the pan with asparagus and turn stove back on (low-medium)
Add parmesan cheese, basil, salt, and pepper
Slowly add pasta water (liquid gold!!) till a creamy sauce forms (I went in quarter cup steps)
Top with parmesan and lemon juice
