Pantry Pasta w/ Asparagus

A super easy and quick dish!


Ingredients:

  • Asparagus

  • Pasta (I used penne so it matches the shape of the cut asparagus)

  • Garlic

  • Red pepper flakes

  • Parmesan

  • Salt

  • Pepper

  • Olive oil

  • Lemon


Directions:

  1. Boil pasta

  2. Chop asparagus into thin diagonals

  3. Chop garlic and basil

  4. Add olive oil to a pan on medium-high heat (should slightly coat the bottom of the pan)

  5. Add garlic and red pepper flakes

  6. Add asparagus

  7. Cook for about 3-5 minutes and turn off heat

  8. Once pasta is cooked, add it to the pan with asparagus and turn stove back on (low-medium)

  9. Add parmesan cheese, basil, salt, and pepper

  10. Slowly add pasta water (liquid gold!!) till a creamy sauce forms (I went in quarter cup steps)

  11. Top with parmesan and lemon juice
